DESCRIPTION
UNIPRIMER is a cold applied solvent based bituminous coating formulated with high quality bitumen compounds and selected hydrocarbon solvents for use as primer to self-adhesive and torch-on membranes on a variety of substrates.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
- Cold applied: easy to use.
- Penetrates and seals porous and absorbent surfaces.
- Improves adhesion of sheet membranes and waterproof coatings to the substrate.
- Applicable by brush, roller or spray equipment.
- Compatible with all bitumen based sheet membranes and coatings
USES
UNIPRIMER is mainly used as primer to self-adhesive membranes, torch-on membranes and bituminous waterproof coatings on concrete, block work, brickwork and other porous or absorbent surfaces. Where necessary UNIPRIMER can also be used on existing asphalt based waterproofing materials, metal, wood and other construction surfaces; consult our technical department for advice on specific cases.

APPLICATI0N
Ensure that surfaces receiving the primer are sound, clean, dry and free from dust, oils, grease, form release agents, curing compounds and other foreign matter. Remove any protrusions and loose material and make good any large cracks and holes. Concrete, screed or rendered surfaces must be cured for at least 7 days before priming. Do not add, mix or attempt to thin down with water, diesel or other substances.
Apply UNIPRIMER in one coat by brush, roller or spray at 5-6 SM/Lit, ensuring completeCoverage and allow to dry before applying the membrane or subsequent coatings. UNIPRIMER should be applied over an area that can be covered with membrane or other coatings within the same day. If left exposed for longer periods, clean the surface and re-prime before membrane installation.
CLEANING
Clean tools and equipment with white spirit or Kerosene immediately after use. Use a hand cleaner on hands and skin and wash carefully with soap and water.
HEALTH & SAFETY
UNIPRIMER contains bitumen’s and solvents with high risk of contamination, fire and health hazard in case of spillage, vapor accumulation, inhalation, ingestion or contact with sensitive areas of skin.
Fire: Keep away from open fires, sparks and other ignition sources. Do not keep open containers in confined spaces for long periods.
Skin Contact: Use gloves or barrier creams when using the material and avoid repeated contamination. Clean hands and skin using a hand cleaner, followed by washing with soap and water.
Eye Contact: Wash with copious amounts of clean water and seek immediate medical treatment.
Inhalation: Move the affected person away to fresh air. If discomfort continues, seek medical advice.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Give copious amounts of water to drink and seek immediate medical attention.
Spillage: Check the containers periodically for signs of leakage; recant and discard damaged drums. Spilled material must be removed immediately using an inert, absorbent medium such as sand, and discarded in a designated area.
STORAGE
Store UNIPRIMER in sealed containers under shade and away from sources of fire, Reseal partially used containers tightly after each use. Discard damaged or leaking containers after decanting the contents into new drums. UNIPRIMER has a usable life of up to 6 months when stored under favorable conditions.
SUPPLIES
UNIPRIMER is supplied in 20 liter pails and 200 liter drums.
