DESCRIPTION

UNIPROOF HRBE is an elastomeric high build, cold applied, rubberized bitumen. Suitable for use as a waterproofing membrane on all wet area floors, walls and roofs where concrete substrate cracking may occur. UNIPROOF HRBE will bridge minor live cracks.

ADVANTAGES

  • Water based – non toxic
  • Elastomeric
  • Non flammable
  • Resists attack by chloride and sulphate ions
  • Asbestos free
  • Suitable for horizontal and vertical application

USES

UNIPRIMER is mainly used as primer to self-adhesive membranes, torch-on membranes and bituminous waterproof coatings on concrete, block work, brickwork and other porous or absorbent surfaces. Where necessary UNIPRIMER can also be used on existing asphalt based waterproofing materials, metal, wood and other construction surfaces; consult our technical department for advice on specific cases.

STANDARD COMPLIANCE

UNIPROOF HRBE complies with concrete curing requirements of ASTM C309 when applied at a rate of 0.87m2/litre.

UNIPROOF HRBE is a high build rubber reinforced bitumen emulsion. The emulsion is dark brown in color and dries to form a black, flexible coating.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation

All surfaces must be clean and dry and free from dirt, dust, oil and grease. All loosely adhering particles such as rust, scale, cement laitance etc. should be removed. All organic growth should be removed using a fungicidal wash, followed by thorough washing with clean water.

APPLICATION

UNIPROOF HRBE should be applied by brush, Roller or squeegee to prepared surfaces. Stir well before use, replace lid when not in use.

Damp proof membrane and vertical vapour barrier

Apply UNIPROOF HRBE at the rate of 0.87m2 per litre per coat to give a dry film thickness of 0.75 mm.

Two coats should be applied, allowing the first coat to dry completely before applying the second. The second coat should be applied at right angles to the first. All applications should be continued up verticals to the existing damp proof course. Ensure the membrane is not punctured or damaged during subsequent operations. Where the surface is to receive a render or plaster finish, a keyed surface should be formed by gritting the second coat of UNIPROOF HRBE with clean, dry sand. Allow a minimum of 48 hours drying period before plastering, rendering, or laying floor screed.

Repairs

Damaged areas of UNIPROOF HRBE can be readily over coated to restore the continuity of the membrane.

Cleaning

UNIPROOF HRBE can be removed with clean water, however once the UNIPROOF HRBE has dried, it can only be removed with Solvent.

Limitations

Application should not commence if the temperature is below 6ºC or above 45ºC.

SUPPLY
